HOW THE SHOW CAME TO BE
In 2000 Julian was working as a general assignment TV reporter for both KHSL CBS Channel 12 and KNVN NBC Channel 24, in Northern California Chico/Redding. For 5 days a week Julian was reporting on meth labs, murders, car accidents, animal attacks, and of course September 11th, stories that touched his heart in both a negative and positive way.
Covering these types of stories daily made Julian think twice about the message he was delivering and sharing with the TV viewing audience. He thought to himself everyday after his live shot! “there has got to be a uplifting side to all this mayhem and negativity going on in the world and there’s got to be positive lessons to be learned from all stories. How could I enable the viewing audience to walk away with both a positive and educational experience?” So this made Julian contemplate.
After three years of brainstorming and several entertainment on-air reporting and co-hosting opportunities, Julian realized his passion was in feature storytelling, hence Liv’N DiverseCity was born.
Next on Julian’s list was to gather the 3 key elements needed when producing a show of this caliber, a savvy executive team, a top notch crew, and seasoned experienced host(s) to be the faces of Liv’N DiverseCity!
